The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Honorable John Lebo and the guber candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the 2019 general elections, Mr. Eyo Ekpo have hailed the author of the book, ‘Go Global With Opportunities’, Grace Ihejiamaizu for putting to paper, a guidance for youths.
Mr. Lebo in his remarks at the presentation of the book last Saturday said Nigerians and Africans have been waiting for such a piece of literature.
“I like that generational shift you are bringing about for your people. You are awesome, you will continue to dominate and grow,” said Lebo who was represented by the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu.
Edu who advocated for people to be change agents and help each other, told the audience that: “This book is what Nigerians and Africans were waiting for. You might think it is time to fool and play around, please don’t.
“I am a product of that. It is time to focus. This is not the time to be pretty or who is looking at you and all the things that distract us.”
She urged them to strive hard and get to the top where they aim for as the things they crave for will, “naturally meet you there.”
Mr. Ekpo in his remarks said if he is Governor, he will direct that the book be every young person’s guide as well as its integration into in the reading scheme.
“If I were to be the governor today, I would make this book a required reading material in our schools, a study material for our schools. Let’s count all the libraries that we have, let’s count the youth organisations that we have; let’s organise book readings, organise competitions and get them to read pages of this book,” Ekpo said.
The book aims to groom youths all across the world on how to discover their hidden potentials, how to make use of their intellectuals by researching and going global with network in order to achieve and be a conquerer.
And, Ihejiamaizu said she was inspired on the need to invest in herself and also grow the world to becoming a better place.
She told youths to, “learn to overcome fears” as it was a major limitation for anyone who attempts to go global.
Ihejiamaizu who posited that fear can blur perspective, affect performance, and prevent the maximization of opportunities in life, averred that: “It is one emotion that creates a certain attitude that prevents a lot of young people from stepping out and realizing their full potential.”
