The Obudu Traditional Rulers Council has written a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Paul Adah notifying him of it’s intent to confer him with a traditional title.
The title is in “recognition of your enormous contribution to the development of Obudu local government area,” a letter signed by the Secretary of the council, Ugbe Akomaye Moses and addressed to Mr. Adah read.
The letter dated November 15, 2018 with reference number OB:TC/21/VOL IX/289 said Adah, a guber aspirant of the APC will be conferred with the title of “Unwa Ushie of Obudu.”
The ceremony is slated to hold on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM, the council said, with the venue to be communicated to him at a later date.
Adah has served twice as the member representing Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra federal constituency. He also served as the commissioner representing Cross River on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission and ran for office as Senator representing northern Cross River on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2011 where he lost the primaries to his kinsman, Ben Ayade.
He later joined the APC in 2016 with unconfirmed information suggesting he may soon return to the PDP due to alleged maltreatment by the APC.
