While awaiting the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the Presidential campaign Wednesday in Calabar, supporters of Sen. John Owan-Enoh and Niger Delta Minister, Pastor Usani Usani (both are contending for who’s the authentic APC governorship candidate) clashed over whether or not to hang banner belonging to Usani around the UJ Esuene stadium premises (venue for the campaign).
The incident which happened around 1400 hours resulted into fisticuffs as Owan Enoh’s supporters insisted that Usani’s banner will not be hung side-by-side the Owan’s.
Subsequently the fight was quelled by Security Operatives around the stadium, whose attention was called at the sight of the uproar.
Eventually, the controversial banner belonging to Usani was hung at another location outside the main auditorium.
Finally, the controversy surrounding the authentic Governorship candidate of bother the Owan-led faction and the Usani-led faction was put to a rest, as President Buhari officially handed over the party flag to Sen. John Owan Enoh.
