Boko Haram Kill Cross River Born Soldier In Yobe

Family sources have confirmed to CrossRiverWatch that, 30 year old Lance Corporal Bassey Obeten Moses, has been killed by Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe state.

Lance Corporal Obeten, from Ekori in Yakurr LGA of Cross River state, was killed when terrorists attacked a military outpost in the outskirts of Damaturu, the Yobe state capital on Thursday, 17 January 2019.

The family source told CrossRiverWatch that military authorities have conveyed the message to the family.


Lance Corporal Obeten joined the Nigerian Army in 2008 has been serving at the 333 Artillery Regiment in Maidugri for the past 10 years.

He was home recently for the Christmas break and participated in the sensitization campaign organized against extra-judicial killings by Ekori youths on the 2nd of January, 2019.

He travelled back to his post on the 5th of January and was killed by terrorists on the 17th while on national duty.
