PFN Cross River Agrees To Vote Atiku, Says He’ll Allow Freedom Of Worship

By Margaret John

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Cross River State chapter has chosen to throw its weight behind Atiku Abubarka (PDP Presidential Candidate) in the forthcoming general election.

The PFN Cross River State chapter took the position after a voting process during her February general meeting held at Honeystream Church, Calabar after receiving a 9 points benchmark for electable Presidential candidate to vote for in the general election to come from its national body.

The yardstick after being read to the floor of the house, lists of Presidential candidates were presented and majority voted in favor of the PDP Presidential flag bearer.

Speaking to our reporter after the meeting, the State Chapter PFN Chairman, Dr. Lawrence Ekwok maintained that the decision reflects the choice of the majority of those present at the general meeting.

According to him, “We want a candidate that will allow freedom of worship and go about our business. Nobody’s mind was prepared, 99.9 percent said this is where they are going to, only one person went the other way which is normal.

“We don’t endorse, this is the candidate we are voting, we are not talking about parties, this is what our leadership says vote for a candidate with these qualities. And majority have decided.” He said.

He concluded by calling on all and sundry “to come out and cast your votes, monitor and ensure your votes are counted and recorded, in fact follow the election process.”
