Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has commended two members of the Joint Task Force against wood logging in the State, for intercepting a truck loaded with felled trees along Okuku/Yala road.
In his statement, one of the member, Kelechukwu Patrick thanked the Governor for his benevolence, stating that they were initially bribed with a sum of five hundred thousand naira by the owner of the truck, which they turned down.
Mr. Ayade has asked that both members be compensated with the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira each and be given fifty percent from the wood proceeds after sale.
