CALABAR: Environment Expert, Tony Adah Released After Three Days In Kidnappers Den

Report reaching CrossRiverWatch suggests that environmental expert in Cross River State, Mr. Tony Attah was released on Wednesday after spending over 48 hours in the hands of kidnappers.

Attah, a Management and Engagement Specialist in the Nigeria’s implementation network of the United Nation’s Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD) as well as a contractor who worked with the Cross River State Forestry Commission was abducted in his Calabar residence on Sunday at about 11:00PM.

He resides around 8 miles, a popular residential layout in the outskirts of the port city.

The kidnapping began as a typical robbery with his wife beaten by the robbers who later took Mr. Attah away.

Sources say his family promptly raised the requested ransom to facilitate his release but failed to declare the sum involved.
