Let it not be recorded in the annals of history that I once lived in a time when evil triumphed over good, and I was too weak to speak out against the tyranny of evildoers. Evil they say, only triumph when good men choose to keep mute.
The Cross River State cyberspace and indeed Nigeria, have continued to witness what seems like an endless influx of agitations, condemnation, accusations and counter-accusations orchestrated by the arrest, bundling, kidnapping and incarceration of one of Cross River State foremost online activist cum journalist, Citizen Agba Jalingo. While we condemn his arrest and detention, it is pertinent we try to x-ray the MANY SINS AGBA JALINGO COMMITTED AGAINST CROSS RIVER STATE.
One of his many Sins that landed him in Police net, is his audacious exposition of the 500 million naira microfinance fraud by the State Government. Is Agba Jalingo not aware that it is a heinous crime in Cross River State to expose any fraudulent act by the State Government?
Agba Jalingo had continued to constructively criticize the State Government. What a heck of effrontery!
Is Agba Jalingo not aware that it is a treasonable offence to criticize a Democratic Government in Cross River State, whether constructively or destructively?
Agba Jalingo “Sinned” against the powers that be in Cross River State, when he choose to “overthrow” with the truth, the Man sitting on the Iron Throne, the Lord of Diamond Hill, the King in the North, protector of the realm, the unburnt, First of his kind, and most recently, the Knight of Camelot.
Oh! Jalingo, Son of Agba, why have thou chosen the ways of the heathens? Why have thou chosen to sinned against the powers that be, with the truth? Oh! Agba my brother, you have chosen to despise the ways of others whose belly and “Food on the Table” is their God. You have chosen to despise the ways of bootlickers that would rather choose to observe table manners while eating on the table than speak out.
In your travail, oh! Agba, I wish you victory. In your moment of pain, I wish you strength for you have chosen to remain resilient in the face of persecution.
Thank you for sinning against the powers that be in the interest of our dear State.
I would rather be another sinner like you than walk in the ways of some righteous men, whose God is their belly.
I wish you well my brother, as you sojourn through this mara experience and wilderness. May the Heavens vindicate you, Oh! Courageous Sinner of my time!!.
