Former governorship candidate of Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA), Goddie Akpama, has faulted Governor Ben Ayade’s claim that the detention of the online publisher of CrossRiverWatch, Mr. Agba Jalingo, is by the Federal Government and not him.

Reacting to the two video clips by Ayade on Jalingo’s detention, Akpama stated yesterday, “I have watched and listened to what you have said in those clips as released to the public.

“My advice is that you should instruct the police to drop the charges against Jalingo, so that the case be struck out or dismissed as the case may be, so he may regain his freedom.

“I have come to the conclusion that the detention of Jalingo is based on your prompting, and not from the Federal Government, as you want the world to believe based on what you said recently when you visited Aso Rock.”

According to Akpama, the governor claimed the police is a federal institution, hence Jalingo is being tried by the Federal Government.

“Having said that, you should have stopped at that, if you were not directly responsible.

“You are directly responsible, that is why you went further to tell the world your grievances with him, and how he had been a blackmailer, a politician, a businessman and so on. Those references were too personal; hence speech therapists can easily establish the link between you and Jalingo’s detention,” he added.
