A new commissioner of police has resumed duties in Cross River state.

Mr. Uche Anozia is the new chief of police in the state.

Anozia took over on March 26, 2020 from Mr. Nkereuwem Akpan who spent just four months in the state from November till March. Akpan replaced Anozia in Bayelsa state.

There has been no release by police authorities concerning the redeployment with unconfirmed reports suggesting that top officials in Cross River influenced his posting to the state.
