Limestone Deposit Discovered In Onyen-Okpon Community

Limestone deposit have been discovered in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria.

The deposit of limestone was found in Onyen-Okpon community, Obubra by the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon. George O’ben Etchi and his team.

The natural deposit is said to stretch about 10km across the neatly seated community.

Other communities visited as a result of the research are Ekporkpa in Ikom LGA, Okokori and Edondon in Obubra LGA, all with Illegal mining of barite and galena presence.

Hon. George, urged them to be more careful in giving consent to those who come with fake promises and use their consent to gain mining licence.

He encouraged them to trust in the Governor Ben Ayade’s industrialization drive assuring them that the discovery is going to better their lives.
