In what may be considered rare in view of the mountain of appointment seekers, Mr. Adie Charles Adie has rejected a juicy appointment from Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State.
Mr. Adie Charles Adie was on March 18, 2021 announced by Mr. Christian Ita, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor in a press release to have been appointed Senior Special Adviser on Aviation.
The appointment according to Mr. Adie Charles Adie was rejected for personal reasons and wished the Governor well in his endeavor.
Governor Ben Ayade has on many fora said he needs a small percent on his appointees, the rest are for stomach infrastructure, in his own words “food on the table”.
The State Government has been at loggerhead with Okambi community where Mr. Adie Charles Adie hails from over the ongoing Obudu International Cargo airport project.
The community since initiation of the project last year has been accusing the Governor Ben Ayade led Government of land grabbing, rights violations, not paying appropriate compensation as well as using the airport project as a white elephant to drive them to extinction.
The community has since dragged the Government to court and the case is ongoing. See his rejection letter below.
