The Cross River State Government has urged Cross Riverians to break themselves free from the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine myth, stressing that the vaccine which is aimed at building defensive bodies is safe.
Speaking at the flag-off of the COVID-19 Response and Vaccine Preparedness in Nigeria, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency disclosed that, over 12, 000 people across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State has been vaccinated.
Earlier, the Program Manager of United Purpose, Mr. Nanpet Chuktu maintained that, his NGO is partnering with the Cross River State Government to help supplement its effort in getting citizens vaccinated.
The Program Manager of the NGO which has been in Cross River since 1999 said nothing new is going to be created, but existing tools will be escalated.
Testifying about the fact that the AstraZeneca vaccine is safe, the first Cross Riverian and female to take the jab, Mrs. Nkang Magdalene said the vaccine is good for all.
On his part, the first male, Mr. Obeten Sunday maintained that his confidence as a frontline health worker has been boosted.
