Four days after departing Ostravia Mosnov, Czechia for Nigeria, a Boeing 737 – 36Q (WL) with Registration Number: 5N – BYQ and Serial number: 30334/3120 and registered to CallyAir has been hosed down at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos State.

The jet is one of two ordered by the State to float it’s airline, CallyAir which is a joint venture with the DANA group.

A video shared by aides of Cross River Governor, Benedict Ayade shows the aircraft receiving a water salute, a tradition in the aviation and maritime industries.

A sign of respect, honour and gratitude, the water salutes, according to Aviation Hub began being a common practice in the 1990s, when Salt Like City International Airport started saluting retiring Delta Air Lines pilots by creating a water arch beneath which the aircraft would pass.

The plane had three pilots on-board, Capt. Stan and Capt. Rundolph of Vanguard Aviation Services as well as Capt. Andrea of Aero Contractors.
