Martin’s Orim, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has donated a vehicle to the first priest from Bedia community in Obudu Local Government Area.

Rev. Jeremiah Udida will be ordained on May 8 and is the fist Catholic priest from Bedia, where Mrs. Orim hails from and her husband spent his formative years.

Mr. Orim had pledged the vehicle at the thanksgiving ceremony of Major General EAP Undiandeye at the Catholic parish in Bedia.

And, the Parish Priest, at the Bedia Catholic church, Rev. Fr. Paschal Ngang shared images of the red Toyota Corolla on Saturday.

“I just got this car for the first priest of Bedia origin to be ordained on Saturday the 8th of May 2021,” Rev. Fr. Ngang wrote.

Catholic priests are often celebrated by the parishes in their communities whether they grew up there or not.

And, lay faithful say it is always a thing of joy when more people from a particular parish get ordained priests.
