A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in Calabar, Cross River State on Tuesday was gutted by fire.
The lodge belonging to the Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF), Cross River State Chapter located at Akiba street, Ikot Ansa, Calabar Municipality was completely razed down by the unknown fire at the wee hours of Tuesday.
The Paradise gathered that, the lodge experienced a fire outbreak from behind the male quarters, while the occupants were still deeply asleep.
In preparation to call for their daily morning devotion, officials noticed smoke coming out of the building and alerted the sleeping corp members who ran for safety as the building went aflame.
At the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
