Mrs. Eme Offiong, Voice of Nigeria Correspondent in Cross River State has emerged winner of the just concluded election at the Correspondents Chapel.
Mrs. Offiong is taking over from Mr. Judex Okoro, the State correspondent of the Sun Newspaper.
Correspondents Chapel is a block in the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
In a related development, Governor Ben Ayade, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr. Christian Ita described Mrs. Offiong’s emergence as fitting, deserving and historic.
While wishing Mrs. Offiong and her colleagues a successful and fruitful tenure, the Governor expressed optimism that “your administration will usher in a more robust, purposeful and exhilarating relationship between the chapel and the Cross River State Government.
“I, therefore, fervently look forward to a strengthened and progressive working relationship with you.”
