Monarchs in Etung Local Government Area of central Cross River have banned Oscar Ofuka, an aide of the State’s Governor, Ben Ayade and three others over the lingering Cocoa landlord communities crisis.
Ofuka, a native of Bendeghe Ekiem is the Special Adviser, Cocoa development to Mr. Ayade. Others affected by the ban are AIG Njar-Ngor Egbe Njom (Rtd) of Etomi community; Ntufam Benjamin Asu Ndep of Bendeghe Ekiem, and Mr. Mbek Tangban of Etomi Community.
A letter from the Traditional Rulers Council, Headquarters, Etung LGA and signed by 16 Clan Heads and representatives accused the aforementioned persons of recalcitrance and banning them from contesting or holding any political office including their children and siblings in Etung and in Cross River State.
The Council noted that, various invitations made by the Council to resolve the saga were not honoured by the four persons.
The Royal fathers unanimously stripped the quartets of their traditional titles as well as banning them in any farming activities in the entire Etung land.
