The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday kicked off its campaign for the February 26, 2022 Ogoja/Yala federal constituency by-election at the Ogoja township stadium.
The event also witnessed the presentation of the party’s flag to the candidate, Jude Ngaji by the Chairman, Alphonsus Eba.
The campaign train is expected to run through the 24 wards that make up the federal constituency with Mr. Ngaji who emerged via consensus taking to Facebook on Thursday to explain the significance.
“The official handing over is significant and important for us a party to work together to ensure a resounding victory at the By-election slated for February 26th, 2022.
“Nothing gives me greater joy than such an opportunity as presented yesterday for direct interaction with so many enthusiastic and dedicated fellow party members, and may I add, all proudly dressed in our party colours and regalia,” Ngaji wrote.
Expressing optimism about his chances at the February 26, 2022 poll, he promised that, “This will be a campaign, and an election, that will serve to consolidate our successes.
“I will give my all. I will not let you down. I will not fail the APC. I will not fail you. Above all, I promise, I will not fail Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency.
“This flag-off shows that we are ready. The APC is ready. Our people know we are ready. And at Ogoja Township Stadium, we have kick started the next phase of our mission. Our mission is to secure our future.”
Mr. Ngaji will square up against Mike Usibe of the People’s Democratic Party and seven others.
