It was all heart of gratitude at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Ikot Effiong Nta, Immanuel section of the Calabar Diocese as family and friends joined Mrs. Joy Ojukwu in a thanksgiving service.
Mrs. Ojukwu, a Deaconess in the church founded more than 170 years ago, retired as a Nurse after 35 years of service.
The service attracted family, friends, and well-wishers. Mrs. Ojukwu said she appreciates God for seeing her through her service year despite the tough times.
She added that, despite the storms, “God is still faithful and always guides, directs, and protects the family in every aspect.”
The Presbyter, Rev. Savior Ibanga joined the celebration by singing hymn number 77 verse 2 and 4 where songs of praises were rendered.
Others who queued in the celebration galore were the Women, Men, and Youth fellowships among others.
Mrs. Ojukwu thanked everyone who was part of her journey and prayed to the creator to reward them in hundred folds.
