The Cross River State People’s Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor said his choice of Dr. Emana Duke Amawhe as his running mate is for gender equality and equity.
The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District also said he is delighted his party’s leadership shares his view.
Sen. Onor disclosed on Facebook. According to him, “I sincerely believe that every woman with talent, potential, credibility, and competence must be allowed, supported and encouraged to blossom in politics and all walks of life which will impact positively on the society and I am delighted that the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in Cross River State thinks in this direction.
“The announcement of Mrs. Emana Duke Amawhe as my running mate is in its entirety, a very strategic decision that is of great advantage to the party and to my ideologies on which I stand to aspire for the Governorship position of our State some of which includes; a people-oriented, all-inclusive service with fresh ideas, fresh energy and fresh perspective to governance and administration.”
He called on “all passionate men, women, and youths of our dear State to trust this pair and give us all the necessary support to emerge victorious.”
