Liberty Gospel Church has ended week-long activities to mark its 30th anniversary in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The event which drew members worldwide was held from 22-28 August 2022 at the church headquarters, off Ndidem Usang Iso road, Calabar with various activities.
And on Saturday, which was viewed as D-Day, Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio while recounting the journey so far, said she gives thanks to God for the ministry which began in 1992, and despite attacks and challenges the ministry stool. She said the next phase of the ministry will be greater if Jesus tarries to come.
She said the ministry is mature enough for kingdom service, enjoining members not to relent on the race and live a Christ-like life.
The guest minister, Bishop Anselm Madubuko, drew his analog from 2 Samuel 5:4: “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.” Bishop Anselm declared that from this significant age of maturity, the ministry will begin to reign even more in God’s word and power.
The Chairman of the occasion, Sen. Effiong Bob in his remarks said he is happy and privileged for him and his wife to be in attendance, adding that it is just the beginning of attaining more years and success.
The Chief Host of the ceremony and husband of Apostle Helen Ukpabio, Dr. Elijah Ukpabio said attaining the feat was not easy. He expressed optimism the next phase of the missionary journey will be greater.
Reviewing two books (Waves Of Misfortune And Cure, and The Concept Of Restitution) written by Apostle Helen, the reviewer Dr. Bassey Anam said two things are key in misfortune – tampering with virginity. He asserted that there are dire consequences for those who tamper with virginity, rape, and other sexual abuse.
He inferred fear is another factor in misfortune because it will lead to unbelieve, faithlessness and ultimately, leads to bondage.
On the ‘Concept of Restitution,’ he said restitution is an act of returning what was stolen. The lecturer noted that restitution takes away guilt, low-self esteem among others, adding chapter two of the book states that should you not restitute, heaven is not guaranteed because there is no place for criminals in heaven.
Amongst notable dignitaries who graced the anniversary includes; Apostle Glory Udoena, Prof. Tony Ukam, Pastor Joseph Okoro, Bishop Matthew Daniel, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs-Pastor Usani Usani, Apostle Clement Umoh, Archbishop Elijah Mboho, Rev. Sylvanus Tommy, Rev. Chinedu Oko, Rev. Bassey Mbang, Rev. Mrs. Vivian Edet, Apostle Etim Ekpat; the Paramount Ruler of Calabar South, Prof. Itam Hugan, among others.
The high point of the colorful event was the presentation of newly selected Chief Elders, Elders, Deacon, and Deaconess; conferences for women, men, and youth; children presentations, tribal march past, football competitions, musical concerts, and goodwill messages.
