The Cross River State gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2023 general elections, Mr. Effiong Nyong has unveiled his manifesto hinged on what he termed three ‘Rs’ – Reconciliation, Restructuring, and Restoration.

While presenting the manifesto to the management of CrossRiverWatch during a visit to the head office in Calabar, the veteran broadcaster said if given the mandate to lead the State, his administration will run a social justice system where everyone will be carried along.

Presenting the documents he described as, “our testament” Mr. Nyong said he seeks the restoration of the dignity of the average citizen of the State which begins with the signing of a “social contract” with the people.

He promised that his administration would work hard towards ensuring realistic timelines for projects, securing the lives and properties of all, delivering dividends of democracy, and entering into profitable partnerships between government at all levels and private individuals.

On his ambition, he averred that this was due to the call from his people who deemed him fit for the job and pledged to reconcile warring communities in the State, restructure various sectors, restore the collapsed education, tourism, and sports sectors as well as improve media relationship among others.

Also, he commended the management of CrossRiverWatch for its impact on the State and beyond. He averred that the media plays a critical role in the development of any society and its “watchdog” role cannot be overemphasized, hence, he will create an enabling environment for the Fourth Estate of the Realm to thrive.
