Yet- to- be identified official of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) has been electrocuted in Calabar, Cross River State capital.
The incident is said to occur the early evening of Thursday 27 October at the entrance to Margaret Ekpo International Airport and opposite Airport Police Station.
In a 15 seconds video obtained by CrossRiverWatch, the official in his gear is seen dangling from the high-tension cable just a few meters from 305 Special Mobility Group of the Nigerian Airforce, Calabar’s checkpoint, and the PHED’s patrol vehicle number 019 is sighted parked under the high-tension as other officials try to bring him down the lifeless-looking body.
This is coming less than a month after another official of the PHED was in the late hours of Wednesday 28 September 2022 at Army junction, a few meters from Eburutu Military Cantonment electrocuted to death on a high-tension pole.
What led to the recent tragedy at the time of filing this report can not be ascertained as mixed reactions continue to trail the recurring incidents.
