The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Ben Ayade has sent eleven (11) names to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as commissioners.
This was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Tina-Banku Agbor addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly noting that “the purpose of this letter, therefore, is to request Mr. Speaker and Honorable Members to please grant the consequential confirmation of the nominees for formal appointment as Commissioners in the State Public Service.”
This is coming months after various ministries in the State have been without commissioners who were either sacked or resigned to vie for various political positions.
Also, Mr. Ayade’s move is following public uproars, and less than six months left in his government.
“Accept the assurances of His Excellency’s esteem regards as he sincerely looks forward to the usual cooperation of the Honorable House please,” the letter added.
Those nominated for the appointment as Commissioners are Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, Mrs. Ekwele Agube, Prince Sunday Wiliam Awara, Hon. Wogor Umari, Dr. Hippolytus Lukpata, Patrick Ebam, Okoma Inyang, Dr. Denet Eyo Nsing, Hon. Godwin Etta, Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet and Ntufam Ekpenyong Effiong Iso.
