The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched a portal for the accreditation of online media organizations for the 2023 general elections.
The electoral umpire disclosed this in a notice made available to journalists on Thursday, January 5, 2023, where it said all accreditation standards of media houses and journalists wishing to cover the #NigeriaDecides2023 election will be done online rather than manual like previous accreditations.
“INEC has commenced online accreditation for journalists and media organizations wishing to cover the #NigeriaDecides2023 election.
“Interested media organizations who wish to deploy Journalists to cover the election are by this notice expected to apply via: https://imap.inecnigeria.org,” it read.
INEC noted that while the deadline will end on Sunday 5th February 2023, it warned that “late submission shall not be entertained as the portal will automatically shut down on Sunday, 5 February 2023 at 5:pm.”
The Commission disclosed five-way step-by-step processes for application as Register organization, Application Management, Personnel Management, Personnel Nomination, and Submit.
