Cross River Police Inspector Allegedly Killed Alongside Other US Staff Members By Unknown Gunmen In Anambra

The Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Police Force had on May 17th confirmed the killing of four staff members and kidnapping of two United States Embassy in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the State following an attack on their vehicle by unknown gunmen.

The officials who were said to be on a humanitarian mission in the State came under fire while passing through Atani, Osamale Road in the LGA.

The attackers murdered two of the Police Mobile Force operatives, and two staff members of the Consulate, and set their bodies ablaze alongside their vehicles.

CrossRiverWatch’s findings reveal that one of the victims is a Cross Riverian – Inspector Emmanuel Lukpata.

Inspector Lukpata hails from Ukele in Yala Local Government Area of the State.

Meanwhile, the two-member staff of the US Consulate have regained their freedom according to the spokesperson of Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.
