Advocacy For Alleged Witches (AFAW) has called for nominations for an award.
The award “which comes with a small token is to recognize individuals who are working and campaigning to rescue, support, defend, and protect alleged witches across the country,” read a statement from the AFAW.
There have been reports of some deaths as a result of witchcraft accusations across the cross country but most especially, Cross River State.
One of recent is the death of the mother of four girls – Mrs. Martina Okey who was in June 2023 set ablaze and burnt to ashes in her community in Old Netim, Akamkpa LGA of the State.
