The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart Pastor Umo Eno earlier on Saturday, July 22, 2023, attended the Episcopal Ordination of the auxiliary Bishop of Calabar, Rev.  Christopher Naseri.

Held at St. Paul Catholic Church, University of Calabar (UNICAL) where other dignitaries were in attendance.

Governor Otu in his pep talk said the exercise is one spiritual refreshing ceremony to usher everyone into the season of sweetness and happy hour they have been clamoring for.

In what is seen as the coming together of “Season of sweetness and happy hours” by the two Governors, they were all smiles as they exchanged pleasantries.

In another development, Governor Otu has felicitated with the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Honorable Elvert Ayambem as he turns a year older.

He took to his social media handles to say he has no doubt that the speaker has the capacity to deliver effectively on his mandate to Cross Riverians.

“Let me specially celebrate you on the occasion of your birthday my dear speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem.

“As you add another year to your very eventful life, I have no doubt in your capacity to deliver effectively on your mandate as the people of our State yearn for this in earnest.”
