The Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA) has confirmed 13, reject one out of the 26 Commissioner nominees sent by Governor Bassey Otu.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Hon. Elvert Ayambem, had said the 26 nominees will be confirmed in batches to enable the House to do a thorough job.
He advised the nominees to synergize with the House when they assume duties in their various ministries.
The confirmation of the first batch was sequel to the report of the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions and Conflict Resolution presented, during plenary, by the Chairman, Hon. Davies Etta; a member representing Abi State Constituency.
According to the report, the confirmed nominees, who were screened on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, met all the constitutional requirements and were also found to be fit after being subjected to proper scrutiny by the committee.
In their various remarks, the Lawmakers observed that the nominees were people of integrity and commended Governor Otu for choosing people that will work with him to improve Cross River State.
Meanwhile, the House has rejected and refused to confirm Mrs. Eno Gladies Eutendala.

The House disclosed that her rejection is a result of numerous petitions filed against her by the people of Yakurr LGA; her constituency.
The Lawmakers further disclose that Mr. Oden Ewa has not been confirmed because is unavoidably absent due to his engagement outside the country.
