The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu has appointed two new Special Advisers.
The appointments were contained in a press release signed and made available by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche.
The two Special Advisers are Barrister Joe Etene as Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, and Comrade Clarkson Otu as Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
Similarly, the Governor has directed the verification and image capturing of all staff of Unified Local Government Service, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), and State and Local Government Pensioners.
In a memo signed by Dr. Innocent E. Eteng, Head of Service dated 18th October, 2023, said all affected staff are required to bring a complete enrollment form; first appointment letter/retirement letter, confirmation letter, last 2 letters of promotion, valid means of identification, birth certificate or affidavit of birth, educational qualifications, current pay slip, and NIN for this exercise.
It warned that the exercise is for strict and immediate compliance.
It reads “In furtherance of the directives of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State on the audit verification and image capture of all employees of the Unified Local Government Service, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), State and Local Government Pensioners, the exercise is set to resume simultaneously in two (2) centers in the Central Senatorial Zone.
“To this end, all affected staff are mandatorily required to avail themselves of this exercise which is slated to be held on Monday 23 October – Saturday 28 October 2023 at Ikom Center capturing all Staff in Boki, Etung, and Ikom Local Government Areas Venue: Ikom Local Government Council Headquarters while Yakurr Center will capture all Staff in Obubra, Abi, and Yakurr Local Government Areas with the venue at Yakurr Local Government Council Headquarters 9:00 am daily.
“Affected staff are required to bring a complete enrollment form, first appointment letter/retirement letter, confirmation letter, last 2 letters of promotion, valid means of identification, birth certificate or affidavit of birth, educational qualifications, current pay slip, and NIN for this exercise.
“Accordingly, all Councils and affected MDAs are expected to submit their staff Nominal Roll/staff disposition as appropriate to avoid the omission of their names in the verified payroll that will emanate from the exercise.”
