The Nigerian senior male football team, the Super Eagles of Nigeria has skyrocketed 14 places from 42 to 28 in the latest FIFA World Football ranking.
The jump is Eagles highest placement in 16 years since 2008, said the Honorable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan-Enoh; who was full of praises in a post shared on his official X (former Twitter) handle.
“Congratulations to the @NGSuperEagles for moving up 14 positions on the FIFA ranking ladder. You have gone from 42nd to 28th place, which is your highest placement in 16 years since 2008. We are proud of your accomplishments and hope you continue to soar. Keep up the good work, dear Super Eagles of Nigeria,” he lauded.
Nigeria scooped a total of 1522.26 points in the latest ranking, compared to the previous ranking of 1474.44 points.
Africa’s top ten ranking after the just concluded AFCON is thus:

The world ranking sees world champion Argentina occupy the first spot, followed by France in 2nd and England in the third position.
Spain, Italy, and Croatia occupy the 8th, 9th and 10th positions respectively.
