The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu has suspended immediately the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Uko Inaku.
In a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof. A. Owan Enoh, dated 11th March 2024 with reference number SSG/GSA/102/Vol.VI/333, the Governor also swooped his spokesman and has Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council – Mr. Gill Nsa.
He further confirmed the appointment of Prince Edwin Okon as Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service and Mr. Abang Sylvester Otu, as the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP).
Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche who is changed from Chief Press Secretary, is appointed as Special Adviser, Media to the Governor (Abuja).
Former Governor Ben Ayade Deputy Press Secretary, Linus Obogo is appointed as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity.
The release reads “His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, has approved the immediate suspension of Mr. Uko Inaku as Chairman of the Cross River State Civil Service Commission and has also approved the appointments and posting of Sir Maurice Effiwat as Acting Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Nsa Gill, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Linus Obogo, Special Adviser, Media & Publicity and Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche as Special Adviser, Media to the Governor (Abuja).
“Meanwhile, His Excellency has also approved the confirmation of the appointment of Prince Edwin Okon, as Chairman of the Cross River State Internal Revenue Service and further confirmed Mr. Abang Sylvester Otu, as the State Chief of Protocol. The appointments and confirmations are with immediate effect.
“His Excellency heartily congratulates the new Appointees and wishes them success in their new portfolios. Prof. A. Owan Enoh Secretary to the State Government.”
