The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, Senator Eteng Williams has offered free medical services to his constituents.
The services billed to kick off from Saturday 6th April – Thursday 11th include free surgeries on hernia, appendicitis, lipoma, and ganglion cysts.
It will also feature free drugs, kidney function test (E/U/CR), Liver Function Test (LFT), Lipid Profile, Blood Sugar Check, Blood Pressure Check, Typhoid Test, Malaria Test, Hepatitis Screening (B&C), RVD Screening, Health Education and among others.
The exercise is scheduled from Saturday 6th – Thursday 11th April 2024, at 8 am daily in all LGAs in the senatorial district.
Similarly, the member representing Yakurr 1 State Constituency in Cross River State House of Assembly, Honorable Cyril Omini has donated one million worthy school fees to 150 pupils of his constituents.
He said the gesture is the spirit of the season – love, compassion, unity, and sacrifice as portrayed by Christ.
The Lawmaker who took to his Facebook handle said, “Yesterday, I had the honor of gathering children in my hometown to celebrate Easter and partake in the festivities.
“During this event, I emphasized the significance of love, compassion, and unity within our community.
The one-term Lawmaker said the choice of splashing one million on education is due to the crucial role of education in nation-building and as a powerful weapon to change the world; as postulated by Nelson Mandela.
“In my commitment to enhancing the well-being of my constituents, I have allocated the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) exclusively to cover the school fees of 150 pupils in our constituency. Education serves as the foundation for a brighter tomorrow, and it is imperative that we ensure equal access for all children.
“I firmly believe that investing in education is an investment in the collective future of our community. By relieving the financial burden on these families, we are taking a step forward in fostering inclusivity within our society.”
He enjoins all, especially Christians to imitate the Christ-like life of love, and compassion and strive to build a more resilient and prosperous society for everyone.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, and I wish you a season filled with peace, joy, and renewed hope. ” He said.
