The Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has emphasized the importance of security consciousness among private business operators and hoteliers in the State.
The Police gave the charge in a press release issued on Friday, May 10, 2024, by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Irene Ugbo, on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Grimah, urging private business operators and hoteliers to prioritize security within their establishments.
CP Grimah said when business operators work hand-in-hand with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in their domains it will ensure the safety and security of their communities.
The Police boss stressed the need for proactive security measures, including the installation of surveillance systems, adherence to safety protocols, adequate profiling of employees/guest(s), prompt reporting of suspicious persons or activities to the authorities, proper documentation of valid identification card(s), driver’s license, National identification number among others of lodgers.
The Command reassured the public of its commitment to providing adequate security across the State and solicited the cooperation of all stakeholders in achieving the goal.
It added: “CP urged the aforementioned persons or group of persons, or associations to remain resolute, vigilant, and be conversant with their surroundings. He said that any suspicious persons or activities be promptly reported to the appropriate authorities via the command’s Control room numbers – 08133568456 or 07053355414 for swift response and effective service delivery, please.”
