The Commissioner for Education in Cross River State, Dr. Stephen Odey has advocated for unity in Yache, Yala Local Government Area.
He made the request during the Yache New Yam Festival, held at Rural Achuora Uchu-Yache house, where he said there are no two paths to unity that are being maintained in the Yache nation.
He lobbied support for Governor Bassey Otu’s administration which he said has graciously allowed the continued building of the Akreha Okpoku bridge and Yache Alifokpa Road.
“We want to take this opportunity to publicly thank His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu. We have already assured him that come 2027, by the grace of God, Yache will continue to deliver the best result. Nothing will fail us.”
He said the governor is committed to improving Yache’s life and is driven to pull the Nation out of its current state of underdevelopment. He emphasized that Yache’s political recovery cannot be achieved without acknowledging the former governor, Ben Ayade.
“We are adamant that additional things will happen very soon. Among other things, we need new road networks and power. Being together is the only way we can achieve those goals.”I would like to take this occasion to express my gratitude to all Yache sons and daughters for their unwavering support of this administration.”



Goodwill message from the member representing Yala 1, in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Odey Brian. He praised the Yache people for their unique love and unity and assured continued partnership and support to the Yache course.
Prominent dignitaries attended the event, including His Lordship, Justice Emmanuel Ekaya Odibu, Justice of the State High Court, Hon. Dr. John Ulafor, a two-time Commissioner; all of the APC Chapter Chairmen of Yala, Ogoja, Bekwarra, Obudu, and Obanliku LGAs, as well as other top government functionaries, captains of industry, Elders and Chiefs of Yache, as well as youth bodies, women’s organizations, friends, associates, and supporters of Yache Nation from far and wide.
