Students of the University of Calabar, (UNICAL) have set on a sail of one week free campus shuttle.
In a move to alleviate the transportation challenges faced by students, the school’s Student Union Government (SUG) Executive, led by President Blessing Alims, has launched a one-week free shuttle exercise within the campus.
The initiative, which kicked off on Monday, aims to provide students with convenient access to their lecture venues and hostels. The shuttle will traverse various locations across the campus, ensuring that students move around easily without worrying about transportation costs.
According to the SUG President, Blessing Alims, the exercise is part of the executive’s efforts to support students’ welfare. “We understand the financial constraints students face, and we are committed to making their lives easier. This free shuttle service is our way of giving back to the students,” the first female SUG President Blessing said.
The free shuttle exercise will run throughout the week, and students are advised not to pay for any shuttle services within the period as the costs have been fully covered. The gesture has been applauded across board as a welcome development, especially from students, who have expressed gratitude to the SUG President and her team.
The University of Calabar community is encouraged to take advantage of this initiative, and the SUG Executive has promised to explore more ways to support students’ needs in the future.
