Cross River State has emerged victorious at the National Youth Games (NYG) in the Asaba 2024 Shooting Event, securing three medals in various categories.
The state’s athletes showcased exceptional skills bagging a gold medal in the Boys Rifle, and two silver medals in the Girls Rifle and Pistol events.
Augustine Ellah, a talented athlete from Cross River State, stood out in the Boys Rifle category, clinching the highly coveted gold medal, his impressive performance secured him a spot among the elite shooters of the competition.
Esther Edim and Rejoice Agbor, both representing Cross River State in the Girls Rifle and Pistol events respectively, also made a lasting impression. Despite facing strong opponents, they managed to secure silver medals in their respective categories, showcasing their remarkable skill and resilience.
The medals won by the state representatives at the NYGAsaba 2024 Shooting Event serve as a reminder of promoting sports and providing opportunities for its youth to excel in their chosen careers.
NYG climaxed with Cross River State securing the 14th position on the medal table, bagging 4 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze.
