The Government of Cross River State has suspended immediately the scheduled interviews for candidates intended to be employed as teachers in the state.

Governor Bassey Otu, in a press release signed and issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gill Nsa on Monday, September 23, 2024, instructed the immediate suspension of the scheduled interviews for teaching positions at the Secondary Education Board, as announced by the Director of Administration of the Board.

He said the due constitution of the State Secondary Education Board is receiving government attention and declared that the action of the Director of Administration scheduling employment interviews is unauthorized as it is inappropriate for one individual to assume the responsibilities of the entire Board.

“Therefore, the interviews are hereby postponed, and the Director of Administration is directed to promptly meet with the Secretary to the State Government,” regretting all inconveniences the suspension might have caused.
