CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah has resumed office as the 46th Commissioner of Police of Cross River State, after fifteen days he was redeployed to Kaduna State from Cross River.
CP Peter Ukachi Opara had taken over from him as the 45th CP of the State on October 8, 2024 but in a twist of events, he has been redeployed back. CP Grimah was first redeployed to Cross River in June, 2023.
His second redeployment was confirmed in a press release issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Irene Ugbo on Wednesday October 23, 2024.
“The Cross River State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah PSC, FCAI, has today, 23rd October, 2024, officially resumed duty as the 46th Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command.”
CP Grimah takes over from CP Peter Ukachi Opara who was redeployed from Abuja.
In his inaugural address upon resumption, CP Grimah expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for the opportunity to serve once again in Cross River State.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens in the State, pledging to strengthen efforts towards combating crime and maintaining peace and order.

CP Grimah called for continued cooperation from members of the public, urging them to remain law-abiding and to provide useful information to the Police to aid in crime prevention and response efforts.
The Command assures all residents of the state of renewed dedication and proactive measures aimed at improving security across the State.
“We also urge everyone to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station, or the information boxes at the respective Area Commands/Divisional Police Headquarters, or via the Command Control room number – 07041777060, please.”
