It is a deja vu as last year’s winner of the 2023 Carnival Calabar, Calas Vegas has brushed aside other six competing bands to emerge winner of the 2024 competition for a second time in a row.
The result which was announced in the early hours of Sunday, December 29th, 2024 inside the main bowl of Udokaha Jacob Esuene Stadium, Calabar saw Calas Vegas coming tops for the second time less than five years of its formation.

The band was founded by former Minister of Culture and Tourism, High Chief Edem Duke.
Other winners include the Seagull and Freedom Bands coming 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In the junior carnival category, Cala Vegas clinched the 1’st position, Seagull and Bayside came second and third position.
In the Cultural Carnival category, Akwa Ibom State came top while 2nd position went to Osun State and 3rd position to Delta State.
Yakurr Local Government Area emerged 1’st position in the local government area category. Calabar South and Odukpani in 2nd and 3rd positions.
