The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu has extended warm festive greetings to citizens of Cross River State for their unwavering support and commitment to the state’s development.
In his Christmas message, Governor Otu acknowledged the economic challenges faced by individuals and families nationwide and noted that the difficulties are not unique to Cross River, even as his administration is working tirelessly to align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We are planting seeds for economic turnaround and significant progress in our state and country.”
In a Christmas Eve message made available by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, he said it reminds everyone of the true spirit of Christmas, highlighting the importance of unity and love in overcoming challenges.
Governor Otu expressed confidence that sustained governmental policies will yield positive results in the coming year.
He passionately called for a renewed spirit of giving and kindness this season, urging residents to embody the period’s true meaning. “Let us extend friendship and support to our neighbors, especially those in need. This is the essence of Christmas and reflects the values we uphold in Cross River,” he stated.
Highlighting the state’s achievements over the past year, the Governor pointed to significant advancements in infrastructure, investment promotion, security, tourism, education, agriculture, and healthcare. He credited the successes to the collective dedication of the people and encouraged them to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life in the state.
To visitors arriving for the annual Christmas festivities and Carnival Calabar, Governor Otu offered a warm welcome. He invited them to immerse themselves in the rich culture and traditions of Cross River State, assuring them of a safe and enjoyable experience in a hospitable environment.
“As we celebrate this Christmas, let us spread love, kindness, and unity throughout our communities,” he enjoins. Adding: “Together, we can drive the continued development and prosperity of Cross River State and Nigeria. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to everyone!”
