A yet-to-be named man of 24 years old has allegedly killed his mother and hid her body in deep well in what is viewed as a suspected ritual act.
The tragic incident was witnessed on Sunday 29th December, 2024 at Chairman Road, Ohong Community in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.
In an amateur video shared by a netizen, Okoi Promise, community members are seen pulling the lifeless body of the deceased mother out from the well.
A community member familiar with the tragic event shared: “The young boy… his mom who returns from church and tied her up. He was assisted by his friend to throw his mom into a well. He threatened the house help and told her if she says anything he will kill her.
“He took her (house maid) on a bike, maybe to kill her or something, we don’t know but was intercepted by vigilante. The girl narrated the story.
The suspect meanwhile, has taken to this heels. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police, SP Irene Ugbo did not respond to several calls put across to her.
