The Cross River State Government plans the dualization of MCC, a major road in Calabar, the State’s capital.
The State is also planning the construction of two flyovers at Mobil junction which connects the Murtala Muhammed highway with MCC and at Effio-Ette roundabout, which creates the intersection between MCC, Ndidem Usang-Iso road and Parliamentary road.
The Commissioner for works, Pius Ankpo Edet disclosed this in a conversation with CrossRiverWatch recently where he added that the processes for the three projects are still at the preliminary stages.
The 4.8-kilometer MCC road is divided into two sections; the 1.66 kilometer section from Mobil junction at Route A4 to Effio-Ette roundabout popularly referred to as MCC and the 3.14 kilometer section from Effio-Ette roundabout to Goodluck Jonathan Bypass roundabout popularly referred to as Akai Effa.
“The designs are complete. There are some other things that will be taken care of soon too, which the Governor is doing,” Mr. Edet said.
