The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu has assured Cross Riverians that they will not be disappointed.
He gave the assurance while addressing supporters during the Cross River Political Network grand reception held in U.J Esuene Sports Stadium, Calabar.
The governor who will be marking his 2nd anniversary in office said: “I believe in the sustainability of the project call Cross River and I know that with you, we are going to achieve it. I want to tell you that what we have done in two years is something that I personal will never imagine that we will get to this place.
“Our productivity in Cross River State has moved from point zero to full decimal point now. Our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has started moving, our health and education are beginning to do well.
“We must know that to gain good things, there must be investment and sacrifice. There must be a time of starvation but I want to assure you that we have navigated the bend and I will never disappoint you.”
He commended the effort of the mobilizers and participants, encouraging them to continue in playing their part as opportunities are set to open in all sectors in the state, adding that “it is time to play politics”.
On his part, the Director General of CRISPON, Dr. Michael Nku Abuo congratulated the governor for his giant stripe projects in the state within the space of two years in office and applaud his inclusivity and human oriented style of leadership.
There were goodwill messages from various coordinators from the seven local government areas in the southern senatorial district of the state.
In attendance were the Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey; Speaker of State House of Assemble, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayembem; the Chief of Staff of Governor Otu, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar; Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, Commissioners, Senior Special Assistants and supporters.
