A truck laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), better known as fuel has fallen along Lemna by Northwest fuel filing station.
as mob troop to scoop fuel for fortune.
The incident which happened at about 2:18PM on Saturday June 14, 2025, saw residents of the area muscle to scoop the fuel despite the danger and “Highly Inflammable” warning.
An eyewitness narrated that “the truck driver who navigated Murtala Mohammed highway by Lemna junction heading to Tankers Park along Jonathan’s Bypass lost control of the truck while descending a hill immediately after the Canaan City FM entrance crashes and spilled the content.”
At the scene, the people were seen fetching PMS from the spilled tank with buckets.
The eyewitness who was one of the scoopers added: “the truck was loaded from Calabar Depot and was to pass a night at the Tankers Park and embark on a journey tomorrow morning with the product.”
As of the time of this report, men of the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, had arrived to the scene to maintain order and control traffic while scooping continued amidst the potential tragedy.
