The Cross River State Police Command has arrested one Anthony Williams and recovered a snatched Lexus RX300 Jeep, ash color, with registration number ETN-683-AA, alongside a locally made pistol in the state.

The arrest was carried out on October 12, 2025, by a patrol team from the Akamkpa Division following intelligence information provided by the Divisional Police Officer.

In a press statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ugbo Irene, states that “the stolen vehicle, which was suspected to have been robbed at gunpoint in Akwa Ibom State, was intercepted on 12th October, 2025, by a patrol team from Akamkpa Division working on intelligence given to them by the Divisional Police Officer. One Anthony Williams was arrested with a locally made pistol and two Android phones recovered from him, while three others escaped into a nearby bush.”
