The 2025 law day celebration will aim at operationalizing the Cross River State Disability Rights Law, 2021, says the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, BRCi, a nongovernmental organization in the State.
The law day is a “special event dedicated to promote human rights and inclusion of children with disabilities in development,” read a short statement issued to CrossRiverWatch by Eseoghene Edoja Ibor, the Executive Director of BRCi.

CrossRiverWatch gathered that activities began earlier in the month when children from special needs schools and others were put together in a room in a creative drawing competition to eradicate stigmatization, showcase the talents of special needs students and pupils – a step towards inclusion.
Billed for October 10th at the BRCi’s office in Calabar, the program, which will feature a legal implementation workshop that aims to operationalize the Cross River State Disability Rights Law 2021, is supported by the French Embassy.
