Joe Foundation Marks World Diabetes Day With Free Medical Outreach In Cross River

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

The John Owan Enoh Foundation for Diabetes (JOE Foundation for Diabetes) has marked the World Diabetes Day with a comprehensive free medical outreach in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, offering residents access to essential health services at no cost.

The exercise, led by the foundation’s Program Officer, Mrs. Nyce Manyo Neji, featured a wide range of screenings and treatments aimed at promoting early detection and effective management of diabetes and related health conditions. Services provided included eye examinations, diabetes checks, blood pressure checks, and free medications for all beneficiaries.

Speaking during the outreach, Mrs. Nyce Manyo Neji, said the initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to improving community health and ensuring early detection of diabetes. She noted that many residents are unaware of their health status, stressing the importance of continuous screening and access to treatment.

Residents turned out in significant numbers, describing the intervention as timely, impactful, and crucial for people who rarely have access to regular medical care.

The JOE Foundation for Diabetes, founded by Senator John Owan Enoh, reaffirmed its dedication to expanding healthcare support and increasing diabetes awareness across the State.

Since its inception years ago, the foundation has remained consistent in delivering health-focused initiatives to underserved communities.

This outreach held on Friday, November 14, 2025, formed part of global activities commemorating this year’s World Diabetes Day.
