The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, has thrown his full weight behind Obudu Hilltop FC, congratulating the side after their hard-earned 1–0 victory over Ranch Pillars of Obanliku in the ongoing Governor Bassey Otu Cup.
In a fiercely contested derby played on Monday at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Hilltop FC showcased superb tactical discipline, resolute defending, and clinical finishing to edge past their rivals and secure the crucial three points. The performance, according to the chairman, typified the “fighting spirit and football culture” Obudu is known for.
Hon. Undiandeye, in a statement dated 15 November, 2025, signed by His Press Secretary, Ikwen Atuaka, applauded the team’s character, teamwork, and determination, noting that their display mirrors the strength and unity of the Obudu people.
He praised the players, technical bench, and supporters for standing together and urged them to stay focused as the competition enters tougher stages.
Reaffirming the Council’s unwavering support, the chairman charged the team to keep the momentum high, maintain discipline both on and off the pitch, and continue flying Obudu’s flag with pride. He expressed confidence that Hilltop FC possesses the quality to advance deep into the tournament and return home with honours.
